Palace still undecided on a higher monthly SSS contributions

SSS president and CEO Emilio de Quiros Jr made a plan last year to raise the monthly Social Security System (SSS) monthly contributions for its members. The Palace has yet to approve the said plan.

Through the president's spokesperson, Edwin Lacierda said that Presiden Benigno Aquino III is still undecided with the plan and he is still studying if it will be beneficiary to the Filipino employees.

The SSS office made public the plan of increasing the monthly contributions by 11% from 10.4% of the employees' monthly salaries in the private sector and employers will share an equal basis. If the plan will push through, it will add seven years to the life fund of SSS and will provide leeway for benefit enhancements.
